HISTORY

History of Digital Photography Through a Snap Shot
In a relatively short span of time, the HISTORY of digital photography has come a long way. What can only be described as a demand that certainly spurred the supply in the market that has catapulted the way that we see images taken by a camera today. The type of photographs that we see today first had their way on the scene in the late 1960′s by the use of a charge coupled device, or CCD, and it is the predecessor for the modern day digital photograph.

The design for the origin in the HISTORY of digital photography was to be a capable picture that was scene on computers which at that time, or to be frank, at this time are still being changed to adhere to certain new changes in technology on the horizon. The end result was to take the photographs and have them reproduced into a digital frame on a personal computer and that did not happen until the company, Sony to be precise, made that technology compatible with the photograph and the computer producing a approximately 25 images of 720,000 pixel image on†a floppy disc.

As you can imagine with what technology can do today, the HISTORY of digital photography had a long way to go since those first media images that Sony was able to produce in the early 1980′s. By the mid 1980′s the Kodak company was on the cutting age of being able to take that initial mega pixel content and record it with a sensor giving more than 1.4 million pixels per image in a 5×7 digital photo quality print setting the mark for other companies to compete with but it was Kodak that broke the records again with the release of their 1.3 megapixel sensor in 1991.

Finally, the camera companies were able to realize the dream of connecting computers with the photography through a serial cable in 1994 with the help of Apple software. Now, this is a standard for all professional photographers handling high speed devices†to novices shooting a still photo with a variety of options to choose from in between.

While the HISTORY of photography has seen rapid growth in the short time span of 30 years, there is no end in site. For starters there are devices on the market that uses technology without the use of serial port to get your images to display on a computer or a photo quality device of many proportions.
